In her paintings she creates a sense of mystery and atmosphere though the use of transparent layers of oil paint, which she builds up slowly so that each veil of colour remains visible on the canvas. In the same way that light filters and refracts on a window, inside and outside are merged, mixing private and public spaces, and producing strange and surprising effects, where coffee cups and figures float through the sea and sky. Images develop to the viewer slowly, as if in a dream, drawing the eye and mesmerizing in their simultaneous sense of movement and stillness.
