Mixed media artist Viv Richard’s lives and works in Bude and makes work inspired by her appreciation for the beauty of Cornwall's ocean views, far horizons and unique feeling of open sky and space. This new collection for 2023 responds to the landscape of around Polzeath, Port Isaac and Daymer Bay.
Her artworks are created from layers of mixed media, collage, paint and an assortment of different materials such as paper pulp, felting wool, wax and straw. Accidental marks are an important part of Viv’s working practice, and she will often let the nature of her materials, and the effect of outdoor elements such as sun and rain leave their mark on the surface of each work.
