A dazzling seasonal exhibition of handcrafted jewellery and sculpture
Thursday 7 December to Friday 5 January
Private View Wednesday 6 December, 6pm to 8pm
This December, we present Precious Metals, a dazzling exhibition of handcrafted jewellery, sculpture, silverwork, painting and photography for the Christmas gift season. Marsha Drew’s elegant jewellery is inspired by the beauty of Cornwall’s wild coast and crafted from sterling silver with 24 and 18 carat gold, precious and semi-precious stones; metal sculptor Kerry Whittle’s contemporary steel and bronze works define him as one of Cornwall’s leading master craftsman; North Cornwall photographer Nick Reader uses silver nitrate in the wetplate process to create images of unique quality and beauty; award winning silversmith Rachael Osborne creates finely crafted tableware at her North Cornwall studio, and Suki Wapshott’s landscapes, seascapes and abstract works are enhanced with the metallic warmth of gold and silver leaf.
Our friends at Waterfront Rooftop Restaurant, Polzeath, will be partnering us in this opening night event, offering a special, post preview, seasonally inspired set menu from 8pm.
Enjoy a complementary gin and tonic at the Gallery followed by a complementary ‘Precious Metals’ Cocktail on arrival at the Rooftop Bar, before sitting down to a spectacular three course meal created from the finest local produce. A first course of roast Jerusalem artichoke, leeks and watercress salad will be followed by a main course of confit duck leg, fried sprouts and lentils, with a passion fruit tart desert.
Vegetarian option available. Cost per person £27.50. Call 01208 869655 to book.
